As we are sitting in the hotel room in Turks in Caicos (watching the Bruins game), we decided it would be a good idea to give you an update on our plans. We arrived in Turks and Caicos this morning at 11 am. All of us were asleep for the whole three hour plane ride. I think the combined sleep the night before was about fifteen hours for the whole group! After arriving in Turks and Caicos, we spent the whole day at the beach. We leave tomorrow morning at 9 am to head to Milot. After having a nice meal on the island, we came to some conclusions-
Eric- As many of you know, I have REALLY fair skin. As some of you may also know, I am AWFUL at applying sunscreen. I think subconsciously I am trying to create an abstract art piece using my flesh as my medium. Nevertheless, I got REALLY sunburnt today... and hopefully this will be the one time of the trip.
Sophia - We decided to call ourselves TIH (Tufts In Haiti), as apparently in Maggie's Chloriquine-induced dream thats what we were called. She thanks PIH for the inspiration. Anyways, team TIH is already reprimanding me for going off to explore on my own. Oops :) Don't worry, I've promised not to do the same in Haiti :) Also, as you can see in our first picture, TIH is already concerned about looking like monsters when compared to my height. Though I feel outnumbered now, when we get to Haiti I think the tables will turn on my tall friends!
Maggie- We are currently taking pictures for our new photo album, titled: "tan" lines. apparently one application of sunscreen in Turks and Caicos just does not suffice. Over dinner we began brainstorming how customs will be welcoming us into Haiti tomorrow morning. Turks and Caicos custom agents all happily said, "welcome to paradise". who knows what tomorrow will be, only a couple more hours until we find out. For now, back to the bruins- they are losing.
Alex- I want to thank our hosts last night, Eric's aunt Sally and uncle Dan for hosting us, feeding us and driving us to the JFK airport despite hosting a party for 170 guests the next day. Other than that I am happy to say that I have maintained my dominance at a**-hole with a commanding 5 game winning streak. Looking forward to getting to Haiti tomorrow to start work on our project!
Spencer- 1)none of us knew how to properly play go fish. 2) when we tried to play we failed
The people in Turks and Caicos listen to random music. On our way to the hotel from the airport we had the best of the 60s, at the pool side we had some old school jams and at dinner we had a mix of reggae and oldies one after another.
I just discovered that I can follow you guys OFFICIALLY by just logging in via gmail. Wonderful! Lots of comments to come. This post made me laugh -- eric, I know all too well how bad you are about applying sunscreen haha.
