We made it to Haiti safe and sound!! The internet connection is quite poor for now, so I will only share a few updates:
* The plane was so small that even I (Sophia) had to duck to get into it. Also, apparently all of our luggage didn't fit-- we found this out when arriving in Haiti. Hopefully we'll get it soon!
* We had a grand tour of the hospital compound -- it is truly stunning to see how much is being done with so few resources. We are all so excited to get to see patients tomorrow!
* We learned Dr. Pearlmutter's third rule: If you see a man with a machete, don't forget to just smile and wave....
* We hiked up to the Citadel and almost got washed away in the torrential downpour. Even with the rain, the views were stunning and the history was fascinating. Quite an appropriate introduction to this beautiful and complicated country!
Sending lots of gratitude and love to everyone who has supported us so that we could finally make it here! We couldn't have done it without all of you :)
-Sophia
